Just when we thought things couldn't get much more exciting, wham!, we came up with another idea.
Late Breaking News!
We've had pictures of cars arrive in all kinds of formats and file sizes, making uniform judging very difficult. To even things out a bit, we will be taking photographs of each of the cars entered on-site, during the MegaDerby live event. Then the pictures will be posted on this site and judging will take place as a separate online event, with the winners to be announced here on our website.
So here's the way it will work now:
Step 1: We still want every Cub Scout that registers a car to upload at least one good picture of his car. (You can see that we've got a lot of good pictures on file already from past events) - if you don't want to upload a picture, that's OK. we'll work with the photograph we take at MegaDerby5). Your photo will be useful as a back up or in case judges want to view your car in greater detail. However, judging of MegaDerby entrants will be based primarily on the photographs we take at the event.
Step 2: We want everyone who is interested in being a design judge to register as such, either by E-mail now or by means of a link we hope to have functional soon. (Note: if no one's interested, we're not above assigning Grandma to the task!!!)

The judges view the cars, they pick their favorites, our MegaDerby database tallies the results on our server, and Voila! we announce the winners as soon as all the returns are in. Keep checking this page for further details.
