How many cars can I enter?

You may pre-register 2 cars. Additional cars will have to wait for standby registration on a space-available basis on race day.

When does online pre-registration end?

Online pre-registration closes at 5pm on April 23.

300 Cars! But won't that take forever?

At SHAC MegaDerby, long lines and waiting around all day for dozens of heats to run 4 times each are so last century. The combination of online pre-registration and our "Texas Roll Down™" time trials approach makes it possible. Once your car has been checked in and inspected, it should take no more than 20 minutes to get your car back. You're then free to run it in some of the other events, or go off and enjoy the other great exhibits at Scout Fair. Once you have your official time, that's all that's really needed. Our continuous data logging software and displays will post current standings and keep them updated throughout the day. You can come back anytime to see how your scores are holding up.

When does online registration begin? Can we wait until Race Day to register onsite?

Online registration will open on April 12th (or very shortly thereafter). We have a limit of 300 cars so don't wait too long after registration opens to secure your slot.

In all likelihood, all of the slots will be taken by Race Day and we won't have room to accomodate "walk-ups". You can bet that if you're reading this, you're not the only one. That means that whatever registration occurs on Race Day will have to be on a space-available, standby basis. So to be on the safe side, register online as soon as possible after April 12th

When will check-in begin on Race Day?

Everyone will be assigned to a registration group so that not everyone will show up at the same time only to wait in a long line. Check-in will start for the first group at 11:15am. When you receive your registration confirmation by return email, you will be given a check-in schedule, based on your assigned registration number which you should use as a guide to know when to show up to check in. We'll be assigning entrants to different 45- minute check-in groups so that we can even things out as much as possible in the check-in line. Cars registering to run in the DeathWood derby will be given the earliest times so that enough cars will be on hand at the beginning of things to coordinate challenge runs and survivor heats.

Do I have to build a new car?

Not unless you want to. Most scouts will be using the cars they built for their Pack level races this year. A few will probably modify their cars to shave off those last few milliseconds.

Where can I find the construction rules?

Just navigate to the "Rules" page on this site (you'll see the links in the frame to the left) and you should be able to find all the info you need.

. . . . more coming!
